Lisa Bayliss
Office and clinic manager
Lisa joined CICM in July 2024, to cover for Charlotte Tyrrell while she is on Maternity leave. A qualified Project Manager, she enjoys a busy and varied workload looking after the Admin Team, Clinics, Practitioners, Patients and the college as a whole. Whilst not an Acupuncturist, she has a deep appreciation for Traditional Chinese Medicine and regularly practices Qi Gong and Yin Yoga.
James Barclay
Librarian
James joined the college as Librarian in 2020. He worked as a physical therapist for 20 years before becoming a healthcare librarian in 2011.
Jo Brown
Registrar and VLE developer
Jo joined the college in February 2020 and works as our registrar and is currently developing our VLE resources and capability. She is a qualified podiatrist and enjoys nature and being creative.
Rhiannon Griffiths
Marketing and development
Rhiannon coordinates the marketing and aspects of development at the college. She is an acupuncturist, having graduated from CICM in 2009, with clinics in Bucks, Oxon and Northants. She is also a qualified yin yoga teacher, co-active coach, podcaster and retreat host.
Robyn Heary
Coursework and exam coordinator
Robyn joined us in September 2022 and co-ordinates student coursework and exams.
Emma Hales
General Administrative Support
Emma joined us in October 2024 in a general administration role, including programme/timetable support. Emma will also cover CPD, the Saturday Clinic Coordinator role and clinical observations while Laura Long is on Maternity Leave.
Amelie Knight
Tuesday Clinic Coordinator
Amelie started at the college in 2023, and has more recently taken on the role of Tuesday clinic coordinator. She manages the patient schedules, and helps guide the third year students, ensuring that they gain the appropriate experience to be a fully qualified clinician. Amelie also oversees reception and provides general administrative support where needed.
Gabby Maslen
Weekday Receptionist
Gabby joined the team in November 2024 as a weekday receptionist. She is a very bubbly smiley person and loves to learn everything she can about her favourite subjects. She has diplomas in Art, Event Management and Greek mythology.

The teachers are really supportive and make every effort to tailor how they teach to suit the different styles of students. I like to question things and look at things from different angles - and the teachers have always supported me by being there to answer things by email after class, recommend further reading, or even being there to support me when I set up a Chinese medicine society for the college.

The course covers a huge range of topics, angles and perspectives, and whilst so much of it is new, unfamiliar and challenging at times- especially the 'hands on practical aspects- I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing, or anywhere else I’d rather be doing it. CICM is a hub of connection, commitment and energy, and something I am honoured to be part of.

All of my teachers are practicing therapists with a library of information and experience to reinforce their words and the lectures. I have gained a lot of insight into myself and I often find myself reflecting on what we learned in class and applying it to life. I am recommending the course to everyone I know!

As I was in my late forties I was concerned that I was too old, however the Open Day dispelled any doubts that I had as the age range of students and staff spanned from 18 to 80. The beautiful building was a joy to explore and I felt immersed in the world of Chinese Medicine. It was a cocoon of learning in the heart of Reading and only ten minutes’ walk from the train station.
